How Gold Naturals Is Made: From Seed to Shelf
Jake JonesTransparency is one of Gold Naturals' core commitments. We believe you deserve to know exactly how our products are made — from the hemp farm to the finished product in your hands. Here's the complete Gold Naturals supply chain.
Step 1: Seed Selection and Hemp Cultivation
Everything starts with the plant. Gold Naturals sources hemp from licensed U.S. farms that use certified hemp genetics with optimized cannabinoid profiles. Our cultivation partners follow regenerative farming practices — avoiding synthetic pesticides, using cover crops for soil health, and minimizing water usage. Hemp is harvested at peak maturity when the cannabinoid and terpene profile is at its richest.
Step 2: CO2 Extraction
We use supercritical CO2 extraction — the gold standard for hemp processing. Unlike solvent-based methods (ethanol, butane, hexane), CO2 extraction uses pressurized carbon dioxide that acts as a clean solvent. CO2 leaves no toxic residues and can be precisely calibrated to extract specific compounds. The result is a clean, full-spectrum extract that preserves cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids while leaving behind unwanted plant material.
Step 3: Winterization and Refinement
After initial extraction, the crude oil undergoes winterization — chilling in ethanol to precipitate and remove lipids, waxes, and chlorophyll. This produces a cleaner, lighter-colored extract (our "Gold Cut") without stripping beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes. The ethanol is then recovered and evaporated, leaving the refined extract.
Step 4: Third-Party Testing of the Crude Extract
Before any product is manufactured, we test the hemp extract itself. This batch test verifies cannabinoid potency, ensures THC compliance, and screens for pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents. Only extract that passes all panels proceeds to manufacturing.
Step 5: Formulation and Manufacturing
Product formulation happens in our NSF-certified manufacturing facility. Our in-house formulation team works with the extract, carrier oils, and functional ingredients to create each product. Gummies are formulated with our sleep blend (CBD + CBN), muscle and joint formulations combine CBD + CBG, and our tinctures use MCT oil as a carrier for enhanced bioavailability.
Step 6: Finished Product Testing
Every finished product batch is tested again by our third-party ISO 17025-accredited lab. This final test confirms that the formulation process didn't alter cannabinoid content and that no contamination occurred. Batch-specific COAs are generated and made accessible via QR code on every product.
Step 7: Packaging and Fulfillment
Products are packaged in amber glass or UV-resistant containers to protect against light degradation, then sealed with tamper-evident closures. We fulfill orders from our American Fork, Utah facility and offer free shipping on orders over $75.
