When to choose softgels over the tincture

The cannabinoids are identical between our Sleep tincture and Sleep softgels — same Light/Medium/Heavy potencies, same per-serving CBD and CBN amounts. The decision between formats comes down to three things:

Choose softgels when: you want a precise, repeatable dose with no taste, you're stacking CBD with morning vitamins or other supplements, you travel and don't want a glass dropper bottle, or you just dislike the sublingual hold step.

Choose the tincture when: you want fastest onset, you want dose flexibility (half-dropper for some nights, full for others), or you're plant-based / vegan and can't have gelatin.

Potency tiers

CBN scales with potency. The Medium and Heavy tiers hit the 10–20mg CBN/night range where research (Kolobaric 2024) shows CBN works consistently for sleep maintenance.

How to use Sleep Soft Gels

Take 1 capsule 45–90 minutes before you want to be asleep. Swallow with water; you don't need a sublingual hold like with the tincture.

Take with a small amount of fat (a handful of nuts, the last bites of dinner) for more consistent absorption. Cannabinoids are fat-soluble — empty-stomach dosing is less consistent.

Start with the Light tier if you've never used CBN before. Most adults find Medium is the sweet spot once they know they tolerate the formula.

On the gelatin

We use gelatin softgel shells because they preserve cannabinoid potency better than the plant-based alternatives currently on the market. Vegetable cellulose capsules can compromise the CBD/CBN content over the bottle's shelf life. If you're plant-based or vegan, the Sleep tincture is the right alternative — identical cannabinoid profile, plant-based MCT carrier, no gelatin.
